Sharp and resilient, the Kyoran has passed all cutting tests (Tameshigiri), being effective in both heavy and light cuts.

The blade of the Kyoran Katana is hand-forged and polished with 12 different procedures, using extremely pure carbon steel. This ancient process ensures a sharp, durable, and visually impressive blade.

Tsuba:

The Tsuba, located above the saya, is decorated and made through metal fusion. It serves to protect the user's hand from slipping onto the blade during practice.

Habaki (Blade Collar):

The Habaki is a metal piece that separates the blade of the sword from the sheath, with both aesthetic and functional purposes, ensuring a firm union of both. Small scratches are normal due to use.

Hi:

The groove on the side of the blade opposite the edge was added to provide audible feedback during practice and to make the sword lighter without compromising its stability and strength.
